Fairfield – The funeral services of little William Bevering WHITAKER, the eight months’ old son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard WHITAKER, were held Monday afternoon at the home of the babe’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. F. BEVERING on East Briggs street conducted by Rev. Pearse Pinch. The little child died suddenly Sunday morning of whooping cough.

Note: William Bevering WHITAKER was born August 23, 1907 and died April 19, 1908; son of Willard Francis Whitaker and Maud Elaine BEVERING WHITAKER. He was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa. Old.P.345. He has a small headstone next to that of his parents. Two subsequent infant siblings, both unnamed boys, are buried next to William in unmarked portions of the same plot. One sibling was born/died in 1916, the other born/died in 1926.
