Alfred F. COLE, 74, formerly of Fort Madison, died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).
No service is planned. The body has been cremated. A private burial will take place at a later date at Bonaparte Cemetery (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).
Memorials to the family may be mailed to 1102 48th St., Apt. C-6, Fort Madison 52627.
Arrangements are in the care of Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.
Mr. COLE was born Sept. 12, 1935, in Cresco, the son of Harry and Mary LUCAS COLE. He married Carolyn HOLDEN in 1961. She died in 1997. He married JoEtta DAVIS in 2000.
Mr. COLE lived in Bonaparte for many years before moving to Fort Madison in 2001. He worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown and Corry Machine & Tool in Bonaparte. He also had been a self-employed handyman.
Survivors include his wife; two stepsons, Tony BRECOUNT of Fort Madison and Clarence BRECOUNT III of Farmington; one stepdaughter, Amanda OLIVER of Fort Madison; his stepfather, Joseph ZOBECK of Keosauqua; two grandchildren; and two sisters.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
