Jeffrey Lynn BAILEY

Jeffrey Lynn BAILEY, 44, of Urbandale and formerly of Ollie died at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines on August 17, 2010. He was born November 19, 1965, at Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Dave and Julie ROOP BAILEY. He graduated from Pekin High School with the class of 1984. He furthered his education at Indian Hills Community College with a degree in computer programming. Following school he worked at various places as a machinist. He also owned and operated Bailey's Corner in Ollie. Lastly, he sold cars at Toyota of Des Moines. On July 26, 2008, he was united in marriage to Tori Jo ADAM at her parents' home in Fairfield, Iowa. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing baseball, spending time with friends and family, watching westerns, the Travel Channel and the History Channel, gardening, and cooking. He had a passion for all aspects of music, especially playing the drums, guitar, keyboard, and singing. He was a very loving and caring man and loved to tell jokes and make people laugh.

Jeff's family includes his wife, Tori Jo BAILEY of Urbandale; two sons: Jarid and Jordan BAILEY of Ottumwa; his parents: Dave and Julie BAILEY of Ollie; a brother, Phil (and Jennifer) BAILEY of Omaha; a sister and her fiancé: Jenni BAILEY (and Todd Brothers) of Omaha; a niece and nephew: Sydney and Tyler BAILEY of Omaha; his parents-in-law: Jim and Mary ADAM of Fairfield; two sisters-in-law and their husbands: Michelle (and Cory) GARVIN of Wilton, Iowa, and Jill (and Kurt) STUECKER of Houghton, Iowa; a brother-in-law: Matthew ADAM of Iowa City; five nephews: Chase, Joshua, Benjamin, Evan and Jaxsen; two grandmothers: Virginia ROOP of Ollie and Pauline BAILEY of Ottumwa; and a grandmother-in-law: Mary Theresa ADAM of Fairfield. Jeff was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Loyal ROOP and Ed BAILEY.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 21, 2010, at 11:30 a.m. in the Prairie View United Methodist Church near Ollie. As per his wishes, Jeff's body has been cremated. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Prairie View United Methodist Church near Ollie. Memorials may be made to the Jeff Bailey Memorial Fund for Organ Donor Awareness and his children's education. Fremont Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
