Friday June 14, 1974Death Takes HICKENBOTTOM
Robert L. HICKENBOTTOM, 61, 1205 S. Sixth, died Thursday at 4:30 p.m., at the Jefferson County Hospital. He had been seriously ill for two weeks.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m., at the First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dean W. Berg officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family has requested memorials to the Heart Fund or the First Lutheran Church. They will receive friends tonight at the Weston Behner Funeral Home from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
HICKENBOTTOM was born March 15, 1913 at Lockridge, the son of James and Stacy TEETER HICKENBOTTOM.
He was married to Ollive E. McCORMICK on Sept. 27, 1942.
He had been a U.S. letter carrier at Lockridge for 24 years. A veteran of three years duty with the U.S. Navy during World War II, he was a member of First Lutheran Church of Fairfield, Lions Club, American Legion, Eagles and the National Rural Letter Carriers.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mary Ann MADDEN of Mason City and one grandson; two sisters, Mrs. W.C. FRAME of Mount Pleasant and Mrs. Clifford LEU of Walker; and his mother, Mrs. Stacy HICKENBOTTOM of Lockridge.
He was preceded in death by his father, one brother, one sister and two half-brothers.
