Mrs. Jessie E. MILLER, 82, 907 E. Broadway, died suddenly Tuesday at 11:15 p.m. at Jefferson County Hospital.
The daughter of Hampton and Nancy HELTON SCOTT, Mrs. MILLER was born Nov. 10, 1893 in Wapello County. She lived most of her life in Jefferson County.
She married Harvey L. MILLER Nov. 17, 1911. He died Dec. 10, 1915 (sic. he was buried at Eldon IOOF Cemetery, Eldon, Wapello County, Iowa.)
Mrs. MILLER was a member of First United Methodist Church, a 50-year member of Eastern Star of Batavia, a charter member and past president of Business and Professional Womens's Club and a charter member and past president of Soroptimist International.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Carl ZILLMAN of Fairfield; one brother, Raymond SCOTT of Fairfield; three sisters, Ada JEWITT of Pontiac, Mich., Mrs. Margaret LOVE of Denver, Colo., and Edna SCOTT of Keokuk. She was preceded in death by one daughter and three brothers.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Behner Funeral Home.

Last rites for Jessie E. MILLER, who died Tuesday night at the Jefferson County Hospital, will be held Saturday, Sept. 18 at 10:30 a.m. at the Behner Funeral Home.
The Rev. Wayne L. Bartruff, minister of the First United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Note: Jessie E MILLER was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa 5th.017. Carl and Mary ZILLMAN were buried in an adjacent plot (5th.018) and a joint MILLER-ZILLMAN headstone was put in place for the three burials.
