Freida ZUEHLKE

Freida A. ZUEHLKE, 77, 102 N. Fourth St., Fairfied, died at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 25, at Jefferson County Hospital.

Funeral services are set for 1 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be 7-8 p.m. Sunday at Behner Funeral Home.

Freida ZUEHLKE was born March 18, 1910, in Fairfield, the daughter of Neal and Elizabeth GIESE STALLMAN. She married Frant T. ZIEHLKE on Sept. 7, 1932, at Memphis, Mo. He died Dec. 22, 1980.

Survivors include daughters Anna Mae MESSER and Mary Louise ZUEHLKE, both of Fairfield, 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Ernest, a sister, Anna, and a son, Otto Eugene.

A lifelong Jefferson County resident, Mrs. ZUEHLKE was a homemaker and housekeeper. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and American Legion Auxiliary.

Note: The headstone for Mr. and Mrs. Frank ZUEHLKE at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield, Iowa (SDiv.2-033) has "Freda A" engraved. It isn't clear if that was an engraving error or that she went by that name in life other than the references to "Freida" in her obituary.
