Ralph KANN rite Wednesday

Ralph KANN, 90, route 4, died at 4:37 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, 1989, at Nelson Nursing Home.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Wallarab officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call as they desire starting Tuesday morning. The casket will be closed at noon Wednesday. A memorial has been established.

KANN was born May 29, 1899, in Jefferson County, the son of John and Mary FLINSPACH KANN. He lived his entire life northeast of Fairfield in Penn Township, where he farmed and raised livestock.

He was well known as a breeder of both grade and registered Belgian horses, He was a member of the Belgian Draft Horse Corporation of America and First Presbyterian Church. He married Florence M. McWHIRTER Dec. 8, 1920. She died in November 1951. He married Marie E MAASDAM Nov. 29, 1952. She died in September 1972. On Nov. 1, 1973, he married Kathleen E. NELSON, who survives.

Also surviving are two step-daughters, Evelyn PACHA of Birmingham, Patricia LEWIS of Elmira, N.Y., and four stepgrandchildren. Two sisters and six brothers preceded him in death.
