Friday, Sept. 19, 1947One Time Resident Dies In California
Delzell GREEN has recieved word that his sister-in-law, Mrs. Vinnie MATHER (sic. Sarah Lavinnia "Vinnie" GIFT BRUMBACK MATHER) of Inglewood, Cal., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 17.
Mrs. MATHER will be remembered here as Vinnie, daughter of Charles GIFT, former county treasurer. The GIFTS resided in Fairfield for more than 30 years.
Funeral services and burial will be Saturday in Inglewood.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. P. C. MCELHANY and a brother, William GIFT. Her husband, William MATHER preceded her in death a number of years ago (sic. 1943).

Note: Sarah was first married to Stoner BRUMBACK on April 29, 1903 in Jefferson County, Iowa, at her parents' home. Stoner passed away suddenly on July 15, 1905 while on a business trip to Duluth, Minnesota. Sarah then married William MATHER of England and they relocated to the Inglewood, CA area. Sarah and William are buried at the Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood, CA.
