May TRAIL

May GREEN TRAIL (sic. Edith May GREEN TRAIL), 97, former resident of Fairfield, died Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at the New London Care Center in New London where she had been a patient since 1975.

Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Bartruff officiating. Interment wil be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.

May GREEN TRAIL was born Dec. 13, 1882, in Jefferson County. She was the daughter of Dennis and Belle KNIGHT GREEN. A retired school teacher, she had taught school in Fairfield, and in rural schools in Jefferson and Van Buren Counties.

Her marriage to James TRAIL took place in 1928 in Fairfield. He died in 1947. Mrs. TRAIL was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield and had been confined to a nursing home since breaking her hip in 1962.

A number of nieces and nephews survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother and two sisters.
