FEDLER, Edmund G. -- Edmund G. FEDLER, 89, of the Kensington, formerly of West Point, died at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2010, at Fort Madison Community Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point, with the Rev. Dennis Hoffman as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in West Point.
Visitation began at 2 p.m. today at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory in West Point, where a Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m., the family will be present from 6-8 p.m. and a Christian Wake service will take place at 7 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the Kensington or St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Mr. FEDLER was born Jan. 8, 1921, in West Point, the son of Theodore D. and Theresa PIEPER FEDLER. He married Delores SPIEKERMEIER Feb. 8, 1943, in West Point.
Mr. FEDLER was class president of the graduating class of 1939 at St. Mary's Catholic School. He and his wife owned and operated the Pointer Inn in West Point for 15 years.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point, West Point Knights of Columbus Council No. 2286 and Gallitzin Assembly Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the West Point & Fort Madison Senior Citizens. He was a past president of the West Point Public School. He served on the Lee County ASC Committee and on the Lee County Farm Bureau. He had been a 4-H leader and a top milkman in his area.
Survivors include six sons, Mark FEDLER and wife Barb of Danville, Steve FEDLER and wife Pam of Des Moines, John FEDLER and wife Gina of Mantua, Ohio, Charles FEDLER and wife Kim of Fort Wayne, Ind., Ed FEDLER Jr. of Athens, Greece, and Tim FEDLER and wife Shari of Macomb, Mich.; seven daughters, Connie FERRELL and husband Glenn of Fairfield; Pat BECKER and husband Gerald of Davenport, Kathy HEDGER and husband Lee of Fort Madison, Mary SHANNAN and husband Kirk of Fairfield, Agnes ANDERSON and husband Bob of Donnellson, Susan GELSTHORPE of Fort Madison and Lori HUMPHREY and husband Brian of South Sioux City, Neb.; one son-in-law, Tom OLSON of Sherman, Texas; 29 grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe FEDLER of West Point; and one sister, Cecilia MENKE of West Point.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son, Ted; one daughter, Christine OLSON; one grandson; one sister, Louise HIERSTEIN; and four brothers, Jim, Bernard, Louis and Raymond FEDLER.
