John J. HAIFLEY, 86, of Fairfield, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.
A service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Church of the Nazarene in Fairfield, with the Rev. Howard Innis officiating. Burial, with military rites, will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.
Family visitation will be from 1-2 p.m Friday at the church.
Memorials and cards may be made to Mr. HAIFLEY's family and sent to 307 Iowa Ave., Fairfield 52556.

Mr. HAIFLEY was born Feb. 24, 1924, the son of John L. and Estella May HAFER HAIFLEY. He married Ruth Esther GREEN June 6, 1948, at First Church of the Nazarene in Fairfield.
Mr. HAIFLEY attended Jackson Township School, Parsons College and Chicago Evangelistic School. He held different jobs as a gangway man for Iowa Malleable and did utility work for Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown.
Mr. HAIFLEY was a Navy Seabee. He served in the southwest Pacific and held the rank of yeoman 2nd class. Mr. HAIFLEY went to Medical Cadet School with the Iowa Army National Guard.
He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and was a former member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Sharon HAIFLEY of Fairfield; two sisters, Charlotte PRUSIA of Fairfield and Jean DODDS of Fairfield; and one brother, Robert HAIFLEY of Fairfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Patricia FINDLAY.
