FUNERAL FOR NELS NELSON HELD TODAY

Well known Jefferson county farmer passed away Saturday

Funeral services for Nels G. NELSON, well known farmer of Jefferson county, were held at 2:00 p.m. today in the Lutheran church at Salina in charge of Dr. E.A. Piper. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. NELSON, a native of Sweden, passed away at 4:00 a.m. Saturday after an illness of several months. He was born November 9, 1869.

He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Roy JACOBS, Harold NELSON, Mrs. Arthur HOSTETLER, and Roy ANDERSON, all of Lockridge; Mrs. Fred ANDERSON, and Mrs. Ervie ANDERSON, both of Fairfield. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

His wife (sic. second wife Emma Christina OSTERFOSS NELSON) preceded him in death of February 24, 1943. Four children also preceded him in death.

The body was taken from the Hoskins funeral home to the church in Salina at 1:15 p.m. today.

Note: Buried at Evergreen Cemetery in 2nd.029. His first wife, Clara A JOHNSON NELSON (1867-1919) and a daughter, Hattie Ellen NELSON (1896-1917) are also buried in this plot. Emma NELSON is also buried in this plot.
