Fairfield Ledger
September 19, 1894

Death of David B. Knight

David B. Knight died very suddenly at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. C. ALEXANDER, in this city Thursday. He returned from a walk up town about 11 o'clock, and half an hour later was dead. Mr. Knight was a native of New Hampshire, and was born in 1814. In early life he removed to Vermont and thence to Ohio, where he was married to Bathsheba FLOWER in 1839. The family came to Fairfield in 1841, where the wife died in 1853. In 1854 Mr. KNIGHT was married to Elizabeth WEBSTER. His home was in this city until about twenty years ago. He was the father of eight children, only two of whom are now living. Mr. KNIGHT has made his home with a daughter at Madrid for several years, and came here about two months ago on a visit. The remains were interred in this city Friday, Rev. John Burgess of the Methodist church, with which denomination deceased had long been connected, officiating the funeral services.

*Transcribed for genealogy purposes. I am not related to this subject.

Note: David B. KNIGHT died on Thursday, September 13, 1894 and was buried in Old Fairfield City cemetery in Fairfield, Iowa in what is now regarded as Lot 110. Both wives and several children are also buried in this plot.

The name of the first wife can also be found to be spelled "Basheba" in her obituary notice published in 1853.
