Monday Nov. 30, 1953W. Ed CAMPBELL Dies Suddenly
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian church for W. Ed CAMPBELL, well-known Fairfield resident, who died suddenly Saturday afternoon.
CAMPBELL, 73, suffered a heart attack at the Coed theatre and died a short time later. He had been in good health before he was stricken. Last rites will be in charge of Dr. Curtis R. Douglass and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
The body is at the Weston Behner Funeral home. It will be taken to the church tomorrow at 9:30 a.m.
William Edgar CAMPBELL was born in Plattsmouth, Neb., June 30, 1880. The adopted son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank W. CAMPBELL, he was taken into their home at the age of five after the death of his mother.
CAMPBELL spent his early years north of the city and moved to Fairfield in 1906. He attended rural school in Jefferson county and Elliott Business college in Burlington.
He was married to Annetta B. YOUNG July 10, 1912. The couple resided at 302 W. Adams street since their marriage. CAMPBELL was a member of the First Presbyterian church and the Knights of Pythias lodge. He was employed at the Iowa Malleable Iron Co. and later was engaged in the insurance and carpentry business. For the past 33 years he worked throughout southeast Iowa in the floor surfacing business.
CAMPBELL is survived by his wife and two children, Mrs. Glenn F. LATHROP, Fairfield, and the Rev. George W. CAMPBELL, Farragut, Ia. Five grandchildren also survive.
