GRABER, Dwight J. -- Dwight J. GRABER, 77, of Washington, Iowa, died Monday, May 3, 2010, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City following a short illness.

A celebration of life service will be at 4 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church in Washington, Iowa, with the Rev. Julie Poulson officiating. Interment will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at the church, where the family will be present from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials have been established for the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association.

Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, Iowa, is handling the arrangements.

Mr. GRABER was born Dec. 1, 1932, on a farm in Henry county, the son of Glen and Marcella HINKLE GRABER. He married Juanita CHRISTNER April 8, 1952, at the Methodist church in Washington, Iowa.

Mr. GRABER attended Eagle County School and graduated from Mount Pleasant High School. He and his wife moved to a farm northwest of Mount Pleasant and then south of Wayland. Mr. GRABER quit farming in 1958. He worked for Sitlers, Loveless Supply Company for 23 years and later for the Washington Community School District until his retirement. While on the farm, Mr. GRABER worked for Lloyd Peterson and Wayland Feed & Grain.

Mr. GRABER was a member of United Methodist Church, where he was on the board of trustees and was an usher. He was a member of the Wayland Antique Tractor Club.

Mr. GRABER collected Allis Chalmers Tractors and enjoyed repairing and painting toy tractors. He enjoyed attending toy shows, fishing and camping.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jerry GRABER and wife Carolyn and Randy GRABER and wife Jerri, all of Washington, Iowa; two daughters, Janet GRABER of Washington, Iowa, and Juanita WILSON and husband Don of Lodi, Wis.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Roger GRABER of Mount Pleasant; and one sister, Thelma SCARFF of Mount Pleasant.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Donald GRABER; and one sister, Wanda BARNETT.
