DEATH CLAIMS MRS. COPELAND

A well known Fairfield woman passed away this morning at a hospital in Monticello, Iowa, where she had been a patient for the past two weeks.

She is Mrs. S. A. COPELAND, who had been living with her nephew, Earl HEWITT, at Hopkinton, Iowa, since March 29, 1949. Her home here in Fairfield is at 302 W. Washington street.

The body was returned to the Hoskins funeral home here in Fairfield where last rites are pending.

Laura COPELAND, 85, was born January 29, 1865 in Jefferson county, the daughter of the late Levi and Sarah PAUL GANTZ. She had lived her entire life in this community except for the short time she had spent with her nephew just before her death. She was a member of the O.E.S.

Her husband, the late S. A. COPELAND, passed away on April 5, 1948.

She is survived by one sister, Mae GANTZ, of Fairfield, and two nieces and two nephews.

Final Rites Today For Mrs. COPELAND

Last rites were held this afternoon for Mrs. S. A. COPELAND, well known Fairfield resident who passed away Saturday morning in a hospital at Monticello, Iowa, where she had been a patient for two weeks. She had made her home with a nephew since March, 1949.

The services were held at the Hoskins funeral home with Rev. S. P. Williamson in charge. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery.

To All Whom It May Concern:

YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED, That an instrument of writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament and Codicil of Laura B. COPELAND, deceased having been this day filed, opened and read, Monday the 22nd day of May, 1950, is fixed for hearing proof of same at the Court House in Fairfield, Iowa, before the District Court of said County, or the Clerk of said Court; and at 9:30 o'clock A. M. of the day above mentioned all persons interested are hereby notified and required to appear, and show cause if any they have why said instrument should not be probated and allowed as and for the last Will and Testament of said deceased.

Dated at Fairfield, Iowa, April 25, 1950.
