GIBERSON, Dwight -- Dwight GIBERSON, 75, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, April 11, 2010, at home.

Arrangements are pending at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant.

GIBERSON, Dwight L. -- Dwight L. GIBERSON, 75, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, April 11, 2010, at home.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hillsboro Baptist Church in Hillsboro, with the Rev. Duane LaCock and the Rev. Ed Newman officiating. Burial will be at Hillsboro Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at noon Wednesday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant, where the family will be present from 5-7 p.m.

Mr. GIBERSON was born June 1, 1934, in Stockport, the son of George and Velma RUNYON GIBERSON. He married Shirley PRICKETT Sept. 2, 1955, at Big Cedar Christian Church near Stockport.

Mr. GIBERSON graduated from Stockport High School in 1952. He was a farmer. He also worked for Louden Manufacturing, J. I. Case, Crane Company and Burlington Northern Railroad. He retired in 1999 from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe shop in West Burlington.

Mr. GIBERSON served in the Fairfield unit of the Iowa Army National Guard.

Mr. GIBERSON was a member of Hillsboro Baptist Church.

He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, working on cars and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Perry and Scott of Mount Pleasant and Curtis and wife Lori of Hillsboro; three daughters, Lorrie WHITAKER and husband John of Polk City, Pamela KRUSE and husband Ron of Houghton and Amy WEAVER and husband Jon of Birmingham; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Dwynlin GIBERSON of Keosauqua; four sisters, Rama DOROTHY of Mount Pleasant, Karen STARK of Stockport, Kay BAILEY of Salem and Marilyn SHELLEDY of Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Coleen COCHRAN; and one brother, Dwane GIBERSON.
