WATERHOUSE, Donald C. -- Donald C. WATERHOUSE, 80, of Salem, died Monday, April 12, 2010, at Donnellson Health Center.

A service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Larry Allen officiating. Burial will be in Salem South Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at noon Thursday at the memorial chapel, where the family will be present from 5-7 p.m.

A memorial has been established to the Lewelling Quaker Museum.

Mr. WATERHOUSE was born Dec. 2, 1929, in Wapello, the son of Ellsworth and Freda KRUEGER WATERHOUSE. He married Lola JOHNSTON April 23, 1952, in Salem.

Mr. WATERHOUSE was a long-time employee of Dexter Company in Fairfield, where he worked in the foundry and drove a forklift. He retired from the plant after 45 years of service.

Mr. WATERHOUSE was a member of International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.

He enjoyed farming with his John Deere tractors, hunting, fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mary GALLUP of Mount Pleasant; one grandson; one brother, Leeroy WATERHOUSE of Salem; and one sister, Louise GILLESPIE of Mount Pleasant.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Donna Kay WATERHOUSE; six brothers, and four sisters.
