Funeral Services To Be Held From Home Tomorrow Afternoon at 1:30
George WHITMORE, one of the older and most highly respected residents of Jefferson county, passed away yesterday morning about 1:00 oclock at his home seven miles west of the city after a short illness with heart failure. The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 oclock from the family home and interment will take place in Evergreen cemetery. Rev. W. Mitchell, pastor of the Libertyville and Cross Lanes Presbyterian churches will have charge of the services.
Mr. WHITMORE was born in Ohio July 17, 1841, and when a small child came with his parents to Iowa where he has since resided. In January, 1866 he was united in marriage, near Batavia, to Miss Margaret WARDER, who preceded him in death February 17, 1912. To this union were born twelve children. Walter, Mabel, Samuel and Mildred have passed away. The following chilren survive: Ransom WHITMORE of near Batavia; Miss Clara WHITMORE, a missionary to China who has been home on a furlough the past year caring for her father; Mrs. Albion LAMB (sic. Maude / Mrs. Nathan Albion Lamme) of Fairfield; Mrs. A.C. FULLER of Cedar Falls; Mrs. Joseph L. BALL of Fairfield; Mrs. Mohr KRAMER of Keswick; Mrs. Homer MILLER of near Batavia and Miss Ruth WHITMORE of Oskaloosa.

Note: The WHITMORE burial plot is at 2nd.194 in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa. Buried there are George and Margaret WHITMORE, and son Samuel P. and daughters Clara and Ruth.
