HOOPER, Harry S. -- Harry S. HOOPER, 86, of Keosauqua, died at 2:25 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren's hospice department in Keosauqua.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. ellis andrews (lower case sic) officiating. Burial will be at Miller Chapel Cemetery, northeast of Keosauqua.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6-7:30 p.m.

Memorials to Kidney Foundation or Van Buren County youth baseball may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 201 Riverview Drive, Keosauqua 52565.

Mr. HOOPER was born Oct. 30, 1923, in Pierceville, the son of Rex and Iva WALLINGFORD HOOPER. He married Virginia PRATT May 15, 1943, in Fairfield.

Mr. HOOPER and his wife farmed in the Stockport and Bloomfield areas and retired to Keosauqua in 1996. Mr. HOOPER also was a Pioneer seed dealer in Davis County.

He was a member of Stockport Christian Church and had been involved in the Stockport Saddle Club.

He enjoyed bowling, baseball and golf.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Tim HOOPER and wife Susan of Boone; two daughters, Linda LARSON and husband Jim of Mancelona, Mich., and Gloria MATHIAS and husband Wayne of Birmingham; four grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy CARTER of Mount Pleasant.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Leo HOOPER; and one grandson.
