PHILIPS, M. Beulah -- M. Beulah PHILIPS, 91, of Keosauqua, died at 10:05 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2010, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

PHILIPS, M. Beulah -- M. Beulah PHILIPS, 91, of Keosauqua, died at 10:05 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2010, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua.

A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Elsa Lawry officiating. Burial will be in Center Chapel Cemetery south of Keosauqua.

Visitation with the family will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials to Good Samaritan Society-Hospice may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 3308 W. Jefferson Ave., Fairfield 52556.

Mrs. PHILIPS was born Oct. 12, 1918, near Birmingham, the daughter of Thomas Irving and Virgie Blanche GALL WILLIAMS. She married Doyle J. PHILIPS Dec. 25, 1936, in Fairfield. He died May 4, 2000.

Mrs. PHILLIPS (sic) attended Birmingham schools. She worked at Universal Producing in Fairfield, at Van Buren County Hospital as a nurses' aid (sic) for several years and at Brothers Rexall Drug Store in Keosauqua as a clerk. She also helped her husband farm for 45 years. She and her husband retired and moved into Keosauqua in 1990.

Mrs. PHILIPS was a member of Center Chapel United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

Her interests included painting, making ceramics, crocheting, knitting, sewing and raising exotic animals, including peacocks and special breeds of cats, dogs, chickens, ducks, geese and fish.

Survivors include five daughters, Rosalie HEMINGER of Centerville, Joan BAKER of Galesburg, Ill., Sherry EVANS of Omaha, Neb., Marilyn "Midge" BRECKENRIDGE and husband Max of McDonough, Ga., and Linda BRIGGS and husband Bill of Fairfield; one son, Alan PHILIPS and wife Betty of Montgomery, Texas; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marjory GOULD of Keosauqua.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson; three brothers, Lester, Arthur and Robert WILLIAMS; and four sisters, Lucille DOUGHTY, Beryl KERR, Marie KURKA and Faye DOOLEY.
