WHITTEN, Henrietta 'Pat' -- Henrietta "Pat" WHITTEN, 84, of Packwood, died Wednesday afternoon, March 3, 2010, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
A service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Packwood Christian Church in Packwood, with the Rev. Harlan Van Voorst officiating. Interment will be in Packwood Cemetery.
Family visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
A memorial has been established to Packwood Christian Church.

Mrs. WHITTEN was born May 19, 1925, in Packwood, the daughter of John Edward and Grace Edna MOORMAN MURPHY. She married Everett H. WHITTEN Feb. 19, 1943, in Memphis, Mo. He died Sept. 15, 2002.
A lifetime resident of Packwood, Mrs. WHITTEN graduated from Packwood High School. She worked as a cook at Packwood schools from 1957 until 1972. She and her husband owned and operated the Packwood Grocery from October 1972 until October 1978. They worked together as janitors at Easter Food Store and Fairfield International Harvester in Fairfield and at Dickey's Transport in Packwood. Mrs. WHITTEN was a correspondent for The Fairfield Ledger and Clarion Plainsman until October 2002.
She was a member of Packwood Christian Church.
She enjoyed crocheting afghans and doilies.
Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie DUNHAM and husband John of Lewiston, Idaho, and Cheryl NEWMAN of Packwood; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Winifred ANCELL.
