McCLURG, Lucile HARDAWAY SIMPSON -- Lucile HARDAWAY SIMPSON McCLURG, 94, of Fairfield, died Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 17, 2010, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

A memorial service will be scheduled at First Presbyterian Church. The body will be cremated.

Arrangements are in the care of Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Mrs. McCLURG was born Jan. 5, 1916, in Lohrville, the daughter of Sheldon P. and Eula Reha CHAPPELL HARDAWAY. She married Frank Le Roy SIMPSON Nov. 1, 1942, in Fairfield. He died July 13, 1981. She married Frank Haven McCLURG Dec. 31, 1986, in Fairfield. He died Oct. 23, 1995.

Mrs. McCLURG grew up in Newton and graduated from Newton High School. She graduated from Parsons College with a bachelor's degree in music. She was the organist at First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield for 34 years.

Mrs. McCLURG was a founding member and past president of PEO Chapter MB. She was a member of Abracadabra, Gastro-group and First Presbyterian church. She also had been a long-time member of the Fairfield Golf and Country Club.

Surivors include one daughter, Laura SIMPSON of Fairfield.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mildred TRIBBY.

McCLURG, Lucile HARDAWAY SIMPSON -- Lucile HARDAWAY SIMPSON McCLURG, 94, of Fairfield, died Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 17, 2010, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Joe Phipps officiating. Cremation has been accorded. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to PEO scholarships.

Arrangements are in the care of Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
