PHILLIPS, Darrell Wayne -- Darrell Wayne PHILLIPS, 71, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at Jefferson County Health Center.

A service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Jim Cecil officiating.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the family and sent to 3576 Half Moon Ave. SW, Tiffin 52340.

Mr. PHILLIPS was born Nov. 29, 1938, in East Moline, Ill., the son of Clarence Edwin and Leota RACE PHILLIPS. He married Karen McNEESE Sept. 2, 1961. They were later divorced. For the last 30 years, Mr. PHILLIPS was committed to Karen LAMB.

Mr. PHILLIPS was drafted into the United States Army in 1961. He was a self-employed contractor and lived all his life in Van Buren and Jefferson counties.

Survivors include seven children, JoAnn FRANKLIN and husband Greg of Tiffin, Michelle BROWN and husband Bob of Cedar Rapids, Mike PHILLIPS of Fairfield, Pat DuFOUR of New London, Brenda HAND of Mount Pleasant, Jerry LAMB of Middletown and Vicki PEARSON of Fairfield; two brothers, Richard PHILLIPS of East Moline, Ill., and Jim PHILLIPS of Eddyville; 24 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Phil PHILLIPS; one stepson, James LAMB; and one grandchild.
