SCHWANTES, Maynard -- Maynard Duane SCHWANTES, 44, of Ottumwa, died Friday, June 17, 2005, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

A graveside memorial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Richard White officiating.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Raymond Funeral Home.

Mr. SCHWANTES was born Oct. 25, 1960, in Fairfield, the son of Duane M. and Aletha WILLIAMS SCHWANTES. He married Kathryn K. KAUFFOLD.

He grew up in Birmingham and attended Van Buren County schools.

He was employed as a mechanic at Ottumwa Tire Company. He had lived in Birmingham and Eldon before moving to Ottumwa.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Sylvia SCHWANTES of Eldon; his parents of Birmingham; four stepsons, Larry M. KAUFFOLD, Dustin L. KAUFFOLD, Craig A. KOGEL and Jeremiah J. KOGEL; two sisters, Lynn HACKWELL of Granberry, Texas, and Elizabeth SCHULZ of Tyler, Texas; and one brother, Irvin SCHWANTES of Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Danny; and his grandparents.
