NELSON, Robert Hess -- Robert Hess NELSON, 85, of 608 Linwood Court, died at 1:40 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2005 (sic - Monday was the 18th), at Jefferson County Hospital.

A memorial service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Thursday at Raymond Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dick Wallarab officiating. Burial of cremains will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. at the funeral home. An Elks ritual service will be conducted by the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 1192 preceding the visitation.

Memorials may be made to Elks National Foundation or to First Lutheran Church.

Mr. NELSON was born Oct. 5, 1919, in Burlington, the son of Grant O. and Mary K. HESS NELSON. He married Evelyn TURNER May 29, 1949.

He lived most of his life in Fairfield. He graduated from Fairfield High School and Parsons College.

He served in the U.S. Air Force as a sergeant during World War II. He worked as a sales representative for the Can. Tex Industry until he retired.

Mr. NELSON was a member of First Lutheran Church. He was a member and past exalted ruler of the Fairfield Elks Lodge 1192, and a member of Walton Club.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Thomas G. NELSON and wife Kay; two daughters, Pat McHUGH and husband Tom, and Debbie NELSON; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
