Jean Marie HARRISON

Jean Marie HARRISON, 78, of 307 W. Monroe Ave., died at 12:50 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Raymond Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mike Metz officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

The family will greet friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials can be made to the Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary for nursing scholarships.

Mrs. HARRISON was born March 18, 1926, in Fairfield, the daughter of Harry L. and Nellie M. FERRIS GRIFFITH. She married Walter H. "Sam" HARRISON July 18, 1948, in the First United Methodist Church.

She attended Logan Elementary School, graduated from Fairfield High School and received a bachelor of science degree from Parsons College.

She worked for many years for Spurgeon's department store until her retirement in 1988.

Mrs. HARRISON was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary. She volunteered at the Bargain Box and the gift shop at the hospital.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Ronald H. HARRISON and wife Cristel of Oletha, Kan. and Gary HARRISON and wife Donna of Sun Prairie, Wis.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Carol J. SCHAUB of Ocala, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
