MOYERS, Ethel Louise -- Ethel Louise MOYERS, 87, of Burlington, died at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at Burlington Care Center in Burlington.
A funeral was held today at Bethany Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Erick E. Swanson officiating. Interment was in Kossuth Cemetery in Mediapolis.
Memorials have been established to Bethany Lutheran Church and the Special Needs Foundation of Des Moines County.

Ms. MOYERS was born March 7, 1922, in Des Moines County, the daughter of Edward Nelson and Ruth Alfrida YOUNGBERG MOYERS.
Ms. MOYERS was a housekeeper at Bethany Lutheran Church, at Burlington Medical Center and for several local families. She also had worked at Sylvania. Ms. MOYERS had graduated from Fairview Benton Country School.
She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, the church's Miriam Circle and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.
She enjoyed gardening, baking birthday cakes for friends and family, participating in family gatherings, taking pictures, sewing, quilting, embroidering, crocheting, watching baseball, playing 10 point pitch and serving others.
Survivors include one brother, Lloyd MOYERS of Burlington, and three sisters, Caroline BAILEY of Keokuk, Mabel HAINES of Fairfield and Elizabeth LONG of Lockridge.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Doyle MOYERS.
