McDONOUGH, Gladys E. -- Gladys E. McDONOUGH, 95, of Ottumwa, died at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at Vista Woods Care Center.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Willard St. United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Charles Luers officiating. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery near Douds.
Visitation begain at 11 a.m. today at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, where the family will be present from 6-8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Hospice at P.O. Box 1150, Ottumwa 52501 or Vista woods Care Center.
Mrs. McDONOUGH was born Nov. 18, 1914, in Jefferson County, the daughter of C.C. and Jennie L. BOWERS BOOTH. She married Robert E. McDONOUGH Oct. 13, 1935. He died April 10, 1979.
Mrs. McDONOUGH had been a resident of Jefferson and Van Buren counties before moving to Ottumwa in 1987. She taught school in Jefferson County prior to her marriage.
Mrs. McDONOUGH was a member of Willard St. United Methodist Church and had been a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church near Libertyville. She also was a member of United Methodist Women and Pythian Sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn PEACOCK of Libertyville; two sons, Edward McDONOUGH of Douds and Michael S. McDONOUGH of Ottumwa; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mineta PRINGLE and Marie ZUEHLKE; and one brother, Raymond BOOTH.
