ENGSTROM, Richard Warren -- Richard Warren ENGSTROM, 89, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at Hiawatha Care Center.

A service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Brenda L.C. Peconge and the Rev. Philip Hougen officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago.

Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. today at Teahen Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids and from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

A memorial fund has been established in Mr. ENGSTROM's name.

Mr. ENGSTROM was born Feb. 5, 1921, in Chicago, the son of Carl and Selma LUNDGREN ENGSTROM. He married Myrtle HULTMAN June 22, 1946, in Chicago.

Mr. ENGSTROM was ordained a Lutheran pastor in 1946. He served as pastor at First Augustana Lutheran Church in Lockridge, St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Fremont, Neb., St. Timothy Church in Skokie, Ill., and Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Ames.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Carl and wife Charlene of Burlington, Norman of Spring Valley, Ill., and Gordon and wife Amanda of Savage, Minn.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, four sisters and one granddaughter.
