Arrangements are pending at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Donald Lee BRAY

Donald Lee BRAY, 82, of Richland, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at home.

A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating. Interment will be in Howard Grove Cemetery, south of Richland.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

A memorial has been established to Howard Grove Cemetery or contributions may be made to a general memorial fund.

Mr. BRAY was born June 30, 1927, in Veo, the son of Walter Lee and Mae STATLER BRAY. He married Juanita SALTERBERG July 4, 1953, at First Methodist Church in Fairfield.

Mr. BRAY grew up in the Veo community and graduated from Pleasant Plain High School. He and his wife lived in Iowa City for 22 years before moving back to the family homestead 30 years ago. They operated an upholstery business and took care of 16 cemeteries in the area. Mr. BRAY was self-employed. He had been a truck driver for Ruan Corporation, worked in road construction for many years and had put in footings and foundations for Whitney Monument Company for 17 years.

Survivors include his wife; five children, Elaine JOHNSTON and husband Jerry of Prior Lake, Minn., Phyllis STRUB and husband Mike of Acworth, Ga., Keith BRAY and wife Julie of Palmyra, Va., Rita BENNETT of Chicago and Karen CESSNA and husband Jim of Monroe, Wis.; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and three sisters, Dorothy CHILES of Ottumwa, Hazel GOMEZ of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Irma CANNY of Kirksville, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
