BARTON, DeWayne -- DeWayne BARTON, 91, passed away st SunnyBrook Living Care Center in Fairfield, Iowa on Sunday, February 7, 2010.
Family visitation will be held from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville with Pastor Peg Ellingson officiating. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery.
The family requests memorials in lieu of flowers to be made to Faith United Methodist Church of Libertyville.

DeWayne Lee BARTON was born on February 9, 1919 in Fairfield, Iowa, the son of Ola Nelson ("Red") and Edna (STEWART) BARTON. He was a graduate of Fairfield High School and married Lorraine BARTON on December 29, 1939. They are the parents of three children: Larry, Dennis and Carol.
DeWayne ("Bart") retired from Michigan Wisconsin Pipeline Company in 1981. For several years after his retirement, DeWayne had is own (sic) CB Shop. Fishing was his favorite hobby and his CB handle was "The Fisherman." He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was known for making and delivering his famous "Peanut Crunch" to special friends at Christmas time. DeWayne was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church for many years.
DeWayne is survived by his children and families: Larry BARTON of Wayland, Dennis and Connie BARTON of Libertyville, and Carol STREED of Windsor Heights. DeWayne has five grandchildren: Mark STREED, Angela (Barton) COPELAND, Kristin STREED, Rick BARTON, and Shannon (Streed) HIATT. He was great-grandfather to Kirby and Adam COPELAND, and Shelby, Ashlyn and Adam STREED; and he has one great-great-granddaughter, Savannah CROSS.
DeWayne was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers (Maynard and LeMonte BARTON) and his wife, Lorraine.
