MINER, Lawrence -- Lawrence MINER, 97, of Stockport, died Thursday, Jan 29 (sic - 28th), 2010, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

MINER, Lawrence -- Lawrence MINER, 97, of Stockport, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.
A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with words of comfort by the Rev. Larry Smith. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery in Stockport.
Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Stockport Library. Cards and memorials may be sent to 27134 Route J16, Stockport 52651.

Mr. MINER was born June 7, 1912, in Kyles Ford, Tenn., the son of Lloyd MINER and Sarah WELLS. He married Marjorie HUMPHREY July 20, 1932, in Memphis, Mo. she died Aug. 1, 2009.
Mr. MINER lived all of his life in the Stockport area. He was a long-time farmer. He also was an Angus livestock dealer and a quarter horse dealer.
Mr. MINER was active in the Van Buren County FFA and 4-H and was a member of the Angus Livestock Association.
Survivors include four sons, Tom MINER and Lloyd MINER, both of Stockport, Larry MINER and wife Carol of Fairfield and Tim MINER and wife Sharon of Richland; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son, Jimmie; one infant daughter, Janyce; three brothers, Frank "Butch," Harry and Lloyd MINER; and two sisters, Flora WHEATLEY and Elnora McDOWELL.
