JOHNSTON, Anna 'Virginia' -- Anna "Virginia" JOHNSTON, 88, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Care Center in Keosauqua.

The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Phil Campbell officiating.

Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.

A visitation with family and friends will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home.

Memorials are to the Birmingham United Methodist Church. Cards and memorials can be sent to 612 Grove St., Prophetstown, Ill. 61277.

Mrs. JOHNSTON was born June 22, 1921 in Danville, the daughter of Edward and Flossie LAKE DOCKENDORFF. She married Robert "Bruce" JOHNSTON June 16, 1946, in Danville. He died Nov. 15, 1998.

Mrs. JOHNSTON lived most of her life in the Birmingham community. She was a beautician and a homemaker. She was a member of the Birmingham United Methodist Church.

Mrs. JOHNSTON is survived by two sons, Robert JOHNSTON and wife Jeralyn of Prophetstown, Ill., and Jim JOHNSTON and wife Rose of Wichita, Kan.; and six grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. JOHNSTON was preceded in death by one son, Dennis JOHNSTON; and four brothers, Frank, Henry, Jim and Edward DOCKENDORFF.
