MRS. HAWBAKER DIES YESTERDAY AT HOME HERE

Mrs. Laura HAWBAKER died at 10:30 last night at her home, 504 E. Lowe St. She was 74 years of age, and had been seriously ill for the past three weeks.

Mrs. HAWBAKER was born in Van Buren county on June 7, 1863. She married Isaac HAWBAKER on Jan. 1, 1888, at Keosauqua. To this union were born ten children. Her husband preceded her in death in June, 1936 and one son died.

She had lived in Van Buren county until 1919, when the family moved to Fairfield, where she had lived since that time.

The body was taken to the Weston Behner Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

HAWBAKER Services Sunday Afternoon

Funeral services for Mrs. Laura HAWBAKER, who died Thursday evening at her home in Fairfield; will be held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon at the Weston Behner Funeral Home. Rev. A. D. McClure of Ottumwa will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

LAURA HAWBAKER

Laura HAWBAKER, daughter of Elizabeth POOL was born in Van Buren County, Iowa, June 7, 1863 and departed this life April 14 1938 at her home 504 East Lowe St. Fairfield, Iowa age 74 year 10 months and 7 days (sic). Mrs. HAWBAKER lived in Van Buren county until 1920 when the family moved to Fairfield where she resided until her death.

She had been seriously ill for three weeks. She was married to Isaac HAWBAKER Jan. 1, 1888. To this union were born 10 children, one son preceding her in death. She leaves to mourn their loss: Mrs. Mabel RANARD, Mrs. Rosa BENGE, Mrs. Florence BALLARD all of Fairfield; Mrs. Annie SNOOK of Pleasant Plain; Mrs. Ella BISHOP of Douds; Mrs. Pearl KRUEGER of Batavia; Mrs. Beulah TURNER of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Aaron and Clarence of Ottumwa, Iowa and Del POOL of Birmingham. Also 28 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren; three half-brothers, James John and Rilla POOL of Birmingham. She was preceded in death by her husband, one half-sister and two half-brothers.

She was a very kind mother and a faithful Christian, her Bible and her Lord being her everyday comforters. She will be sadly missed by many.

The funeral services were held Sunday, April 17 at 2:30 p.m. at the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, in charge of Rev. A. D. McClure of Ottumwa. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery at Fairfield.
