JACKSON, Mona Shaffer -- Mona SHAFFER JACKSON, 83, of Fairfield, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, in Phoenix, Ariz.

Burial will be at a later date. The body has been cremated.

JACKSON, Mona SHAFFER -- Mona SHAFFER JACKSON died December 19, 2009 in Phoenix Az. She was born in Fairfield December 29, 1926, the last of 13 children of Alvin P. and Margaret HARPER.

She married Max E. SHAFFER in 1946 and he died in Texas in October of 1980. She was a graduate of Ottumwa Beauty School and was a licensed nurse in Texas.

She returned to Fairfield in 1988 to be with her sister, Madge McINTYRE. She married John JACKSON in Las Vegas in 1992. They wintered in Sun City Az. for a number of years.

She loved to dance and do crosswords.

She is survived by her husband, John JACKSON, three children, Steve (Vicki) SHAFFER (LA), CD (Terry) SHAFFER (KS), Martha (Sid) SHAFFER-SIEGLE (AZ), seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Her body was cremated in Az. There will be services and burial at Eldon cemetery at a later date.

JACKSON, Mona Shaffer -- Mona SHAFFER JACKSON, 82, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, in Phoenix, Ariz.

A graveside memorial service will be at 2 p.m. SAturday at Eldon Cemetery. The body was cremated in Arizona.
