JACOBS, Arthur E. 'Art' -- Arthur E. "Art" JACOBS, 68, of Ottumwa, died at 4:42 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, with the Rev. Jay Allison officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the family present from 5-7 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Mr. JACOBS was born Oct. 20, 1941, the son of James B. and Ethel SHIELDS JACOBS. He married Patricia GESLING Sept. 12, 1964, in Fairfield.

Mr. JACOBS was a self-employed mechanic all of his working life.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, William Eugene JACOBS of Des Moines and James Allen JACOBS of Ottumwa; four grandchildren; one brother, James JACOBS of Bloomfield; and one sister, Linda ALLISON of Ottumwa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, George Dwayne JACOBS and Rex JACOBS; and one sister, Joyce KURNES.
