OBITUARY

Jonathan, son of Samuel and Eliza CARVER, was born in Pennsylvania December 28th, 1830. He removed with his father's family to Ohio in early infancy, came to Rome, Iowa, about 1844, and died at his residence in Tippecanoe township, Henry county, October 12th. He was married to Rachel TEAS, July 6th, 1856, who died November 24, 1888. To them were born seven children. Two died in early infancy, one daughter, Eliza, in young womanhood. Four sons are still living - Benjamin and Perry in Colorado, George and Joseph in the old homestead. They were with him in his last sickness and death. Mr. CARVER was a man of honesty and integrity and was loved and respected by all who knew him. His surviving children and relatives have the sympathy and condolence of the entire community in which he resided. A short funeral service was conducted at the home and the body was buried in Mt. Zion cemetery.
