ROBERTS, Otis E. -- Otis E. ROBERTS, 79, of Mount Pleasant, died Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at home.

A service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Herbert Shafer officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where the family will be present from 5-8 p.m.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Association or American Heart Association.

Mr. ROBERTS was born Jan. 30, 1930, in Bloomfield, the son of Louie and Clara VAUGHN ROBERTS. He married Edna THACKER Feb. 27, 1965, in Bloomfield.

Mr. ROBERTS attended school in Davis County. He had worked at Fairfield Glove Company, Rockwell International in Fairfield, Heatilator and Iowa Wesleyan College. He was currently working at Mount Pleasant Correctional Center and was a farmer.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Daniel ROBERTS of Mount Pleasant and Larry ROBERTS of Ottumwa; one daughter, Marilyn CRAMMER of Chillicothe, Mo.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Marvin ROBERTS of Bloomfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
