JOHN L. BALL DIES AT 68

John L. BALL, member of a pioneer Jefferson County family, died at 3:20 a.m. today at the Jefferson County Hospial where he had been a patient since April 7. He had been in failing health for several months.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Dilley and the Rev. David Kennedy officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

The casket will be taken from the Raymond Funeral Home to the church at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

John L. BALL, 68, was born June 20, 1906, in Jefferson County. He was the son of Joe (sic. Joseph) and Georgian WHITMORE BALL. He was reared and educated in Jefferson County and the Fairfield schools, and was a graduate from the State University of Iowa at Iowa City. He also took advanced schooling at the University of Chicago.

He was married to Gladys McCLAIN Sept. 12, 1935 in Fairfield. The family home is at 107 W. Washington.

John BALL was a farmer and a stockman during most of his life.

Survivors included his widow, who is a patient at the Jefferson County Hospital; and a sister, Josephine, Fairfield. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

TO ALL PERSONS INTERESTED IN THE ESTATE OF JOHN L. BALL, DECEASED:

YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED THAT ON THE 16TH DAY OF MAY, 1975, THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF JOHN L. BALL, DECEASED, BEARING DATE OF THE 21ST DAY OF DECEMBER, 1968, WAS ADMITTED TO PROBATE IN THE ABOVE NAMED COURT AND THAT FIRST NATIONAL BANK IN FAIRFIELD, WAS APPOINTED EXECUTOR OF SAID ESTATE.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN THAT ANY ACTION TO SET ASIDE SAID WILL MUST BE BROUGHT IN THE DISTRICT COURT OF SAID COUNTY WITHIN ONE YEAR FROM THE DATE OF THE SECOND PUBLICATION OF THIS NOTICE, OR THEREAFTER BE FOREVER BARRED.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN THAT ALL PERSONS INDEBTED TO SAID ESTATE ARE REQUESTED TO MAKE IMMEDIATE PAYMENT TO THE UNDERSIGNED, AND CREDITORS HAVING CLAIMS AGAINST SAID ESTATE SHALL FILE THEM WITH THE CLERK OF THE ABOVE NAMED DISTRICT COURT, AS PROVIDED BY LAW, DULY AUTHENTICATED, FOR ALLOWANCE; AND UNLESS SO FILED WITHIN SIX MONTHS FROM THE SECOND PUBLICATION OF THIS NOTICE (UNLESS OTHERWISE ALLOWED OR PAID) SUCH CLAIM SHALL THEREAFTER BE FOREVER BARRED.
