Margaret Marie BALL WELLSLAGER HALL

Margaret Marie BALL WELLSLAGER HALL, 83, former Fairfield resident, died Tuesday evening, Jan. 10, 1995, at a nursing home in Green Bay, Wis.

The service will be private. Proko-Wall Funeral Home in Green Bay is assisting the family.

Mrs. HALL was born Nov. 27, 1911, in Fairfield, the daughter of Richard "Dick" Newman and Minnie Letitia STUART BALL. She graduated from Fairfield High School and Parsons College and continued her study of reading at the State University of New York and the University of Delaware. She taught in Iowa, Florida and New York, retiring from Lakeland Central School District in Shrub Oak, N.Y.

On May 19, 1939, she married Frank Marion WELLSLAGER of Des Moines in Erie, Pa. He died June 15, 1963. She later married J. Clyde HALL of Birmingham, who also preceded her in death. She was a member of First Christian Church in Fairfield. She was dedicated to the importance of reading skills for preschool and primary school children and established the Margaret B. WELLSLAGER HALL Endowment Fund at Fairfield Public Library. As memorials, the family requests gifts to the library that would continue to carry out her goals in the future.

Surviving are a daughter, Marian Joyce WELLSLAGER DURRWACHTER; two grandchildren; four nieces and nephews and their children. A brother, George BALL, preceded her in death.
