The service for George Stuart BALL, 79, 200 W. Madison Ave., who died at 3:05 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 1990, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Gates officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to Hospice of Jefferson County.
BALL was born June 7, 1910, in Fairfield, the son of W.N. "Dick" and Minnie STUART BALL. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1928 and from Parsons College in 1933. He married Mildred CAMPBELL Dec. 26, 1936, in Kahoka, Mo. She died Aug. 27, 1971. He lived all his life in Jefferson County and worked at Dexter Company for 36 years until retiring in 1973. He was a member of First Christian Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Anita HOTLE of Brighton, Christina SCHATZ of Richardson, Texas; two sons, Charles of Cookeville, Tenn., Thomas of Torrington, Conn.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a sister, Margaret HALL of Fairfield. An infant son and a grandson preceded him in death.

The father mentioned in the obituary is William Newman (W. N.) BALL.The infant son mentioned in the obituary was Roger Leslie BALL (b/d January 27, 1945) and he is buried in the same plot as his parents at Evergreen Cemetery, 2nd.137.
