KANE, Bettye Jean EMMACK -- Bettye Jean EMMACK KANE, 70, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at Lee's Summit Medical Center in Lee's Summit, Mo.
A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Phil Barker officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.
Family visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Visitation also will be from 5-7 p.m. today at McGilley State Line Chapel in Kansas City, Mo.
Memorials may be made to Palermo Endowment, made payable to the KU Endowment, Mailstop 3012, 3901 Rainbow Blvd., Kansas City, KS 66160, for research into spinal cord injury.

Mrs. KANE was born May 2, 1939, in Fairfield, the daughter of Leo Edward and Alice Maude JOHNSTON EMMACK.
Mrs. KANE grew up in the Fairfield area from 1939-1968 and then moved to Forrest City, Ark., where she lived until 1977. She had resided in the Kansas City area since 1977 and spent some winters in Sun Lakes, Ariz. Mrs. KANE earned her associate's degree from Longview College in Lee's Summit in 1980 and her cosmetology certification from Iowa School of Cosmetology in Ottumwa in 1958. She was a retired property manager and beauty shop operator. She also was a housewife.
Mrs. KANE was a member of bridge, ladies auxiliary and tennis clubs.
Survivors include her husband, Richard E. KANE; one sister, Dorothy WEBB; three brothers, Donald EMMACK, Jerry EMMACK and Dennis EMMACK; one daughter, Jonilee and husband Randall SCHROER; one son, Jonathan and wife Kristan KANE; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Lucille SHERFY; and one brother, William EMMACK.
