MRS. BURKHART DIED YESTERDAY
At Her Home in Pembine, Wisc.; She Was a Former Jefferson County Resident

Mrs. William BURKHART of Pembine, Wis., passed away yesterday afternoon at 3 oclock according to a telegram received here by her aunt, Mrs. M.C. CARPENTER. Nothing is known as yet of the funeral arrangements.

Mrs. BURKHART was formerly Mrs. Belle SANDS and she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. SANDS. She was born Jan. 28, 1877 and was reared on the SANDS farm, 5 miles east of the city which is now the J. E. Prince farm. She is survived by a sister and two brothers: Mrs. Preston DUNCAN of Sheridan, Wyo., Robert SANDS of Los Angeles, Calif., and Hugh SANDS of Afton. She also leaves her husband and one daughter Ruth and three step-children, Harvey, Mary and Helen. A son and daughter have preceded her in death and are buried here.

Her brother Hugh was in Fairfield yesterday afternoon en route to Pembine and the message of her death reached him while on the train after leaving here.

MRS. BURKHART RITES SUNDAY
Body Was Brought Here Yesterday From Her Home at Pembine, Wisc.

The body of Mrs. William BURKHART, former Jefferson county resident, who died Tuesday at Pembine, Wis., was brought here yesterday afternoon for burial. Hugh SANDS of Afton, a brother, and Ruth SANDS, a daughter, accompanied the remains here.

The last services will be held from the Hoskins funeral home Sunday afternoon at 2 oclock in charge of Dr. Gilbert Voorhies of the Presbyterian church. Interment will be in evergreen cemetery.
