FRANK LIGHT PASSES AWAY

Frank LIGHT, cashier of the First Natinal Bank of Fairfield, and one of its well known citizens passed away at 7:30 o'clock this morning at his home, 400 North B street. Mr. LIGHT was 61 years of age and his last illness had been of several weeks duration. In January he was seriously ill with pneumonia, but on recovering from this it was found that he was suffering from Bright's disease.

He was the son of Solomon and Catherine B.N. LIGHT and was born September 24th, 1853, in Plymouth, Ohio. He came with his family to Fairfield, Ia., in 1858 where he has since resided. Two sisters and one brother survive: Mrs. Mary LIGHT-BETZ, Cleveland, N.D., Miss Kate LIGHT, Fairfield, and Rev. Samuel LIGHT, of Cozad, Neb.

September 11, 1888 he was married to Miss Laura MOYER at Fairfield (sic. the obituary for Laura gives the month as being October). To them have been born four children, all of whom with their mother are left to mourn the loss of an affectionate companion. The children are: Fred, Laura, George, and Florence.

Mr. LIGHT was elected Auditor of Jefferson county and served for four years in that capacity. For many years he has been connected with the banking interests of Fairfield and for the past nine years has been the efficient cashier of the First National Bank and has been a man whose business ability and high integrity have been recognized by all. He was Secretary and Treasurer and a director in the Jefferson County Telephone Company and other organizations and has been a member of the Fairfield School Board. He was a member of the various Masonic orders represented in Fairfield and last December was elected Worthy Patron, highest male officer of Fairfield Chapter No. 39, Order of Eastern Star. Sickness has however prevented him from ever qualifying.

The funeral services will be held from his late residence at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon, conducted by Dr. Thomas Osborn of Mr. Pleasant. Interment will be at Evergreen cemetery.
