Laura LIGHT Dies Sunday

Mrs. Laura M. LIGHT, 83, pioneer resident of Jefferson county, passed away at 4:30 a.m. Sunday at the Jefferson county hospital. Her death came suddenly after a lingering illness.

Last rites will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner funeral home with Rev. S.P. Williamson in charge. Interment will be in the family lot at the Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. LIGHT was born October 2, 1864, and reared on a farm nine miles northeast of Fairfield, and spent her entire life in this county. She was the daughter of R.M. and Elizabeth EIKENBERRY (sic. EIKENBARY) MOYER.

On October 11, 1888 (sic. should be September 11, 1888), she was united in marriage to Frank LIGHT who preceded her in death in 1915.

Mr. and Mrs. LIGHT were prominent residents of Fairfield. He was cashier of the First National bank for many years and one of the original stockholders of the Independent Telephone system of Fairfield. Mrs. LIGHT held membership in Eastern Star and P.E.O., having been a member of each for over 50 years.

She is survived by the following children: F.B. LIGHT (sic. Fred Bevier LIGHT), Chicago; G.N. LIGHT (sic. George N. LIGHT), Fairfield; Laura LIGHT FERREL, Indianapolis, Indiana; and Florence, at home. She is also survived by a brother, Frank MOYER, who resides at the Turner hotel, and three grandchildren.
