NEDROW, Lola S. -- Lola S. NEDROW, 89, of Douds, died at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at Hospice of Wapello County in Ottumwa.

A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Zion Bible Church near Douds, with the Rev. Michael Mosier officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, where the family will be present from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials to Zion Bible Church, Zion Lutheran Cemetery or Hospice of Wapello County may be left at the funeral home or church or may be mailed to the family at 419 Grandview, Ottumwa 52501.

Mrs. NEDROW was born Aug. 19, 1920, in Kilburn, the daughter of Frank and Sophia SCHADT SCHLARBAUM. She married Lehr S. NEDROW Jan. 18, 1941, in Fairfield. He died May 13, 2002.

Mrs. NEDROW grew up in the Kilburn and Birmingham area. She attended country school and graduated from Fairfield High School with normal training in 1938. She taught country school until her marriage. She was a housewife.

Mrs. NEDROW was a charter member of Zion Lutheran Church and later Zion Bible Church and Ladies Missionary Group. She taught Bible school and Sunday school.

Survivors include one daughter, Linda BESICK and husband Dennis of Ottumwa; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Dotty Jean; one brother, Jack SCHLARBAUM; and three sisters, Elsie HELMHOUDT, Ruth COUNTRYMAN and Velma ANDERSON.
