Faye Isabel BEAUCHAMP

Faye Isabel BEAUCHAMP, 85, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully at home Friday, November 6. She was born on April 4, 1924 in Davis County, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Edna SIMMONS.

She grew up in the Antioch community and graduated from Pleasant Plain High School in 1941. She married George Christie BEAUCHAMP July 10, 1942 and after he returned from the service they settled down to a happy life raising their four sons on their farm near Libertyville. She helped farm and raise livestock for 40 years, later helping her husband run his hardware store and insurance business in Libertyville, retiring to Fairfield in 1986 after his passing.

She was an accomplished gardener and loved her beautiful flower gardens, maintaining them meticulously right up until her passing. She had a green thumb and could grow most anything, her gourds brought many a smile and her flowers brightened countless people's lives over the years. She loved to bake and her cookies, brownies and snack mix will be dearly missed by all she shared them with, as will her deviled eggs and salads. She loved spending time with her family and friends, staying in contact with those farther away by faithfully writing letters and postcards. She was always thoughtful of others and could be counted on to send the perfect greeting card for any occasion.

She was preceded in death by her husband Christie on August 25, 1985 and one son Ray in May, 1970. She is survived by her sons: Robert (Michelle), Dennis (Patti), both of Westfield, IN, and Scott (Ginger), of Indianapolis, IN and daughter in law Donna TRENSHAW, Hollywood, FL; her two brothers: Richard and Stanley SIMMONS of Fairfield; her eight grandchildren: Michelle, Alysha, Matt, Christine, Lindsey, Lauren, Natasha and Jessica; as well as nine great grandchildren and sixteen nieces and nephews. She was extremely proud of her family and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her kindness and love shaped her family's lives and her strong independent spirit will be with them forever.

She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville was active in the church for over 50 years (sic). She had a deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ and is now reunited with her beloved husband.
