GORDY, Evelyn L. -- Evelyn L. GORDY, 78, of Davenport, died Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at Davenport Lutheran Home.

A funeral was held Oct. 28 at Runge Mortuary Chapel in Davenport. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the family.

Mrs. GORDY was born Sept. 4, 1931, in Lockridge, the daughter of Carl and Delpha NICHOLS MARTIN. she married Carroll L. GORDY Aug. 16, 1952, in Mount Pleasant. He died in 2006.

Mrs. GORDY was employed in customer service at Venture for 29 years until retiring in 1996.

She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Diane MORRIS of Davenport; one son, Timothy GORDY and wife Becky of Kansas City, Kan.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maxine LITTON of Fairfield and Carol NELSON of Davenport; and three brothers, Wayne MARTIN of Toledo, Tom MARTIN of West Burlington and Earl MARTIN of Mitchellville.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
