NEHRING, Sharon Kay -- Sharon Kay NEHRING, 66, of New London, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at home.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Elliott Chapel in New London, with Bill Knox officiating. Burial will be in Burge Cemetery in New London.

Visitation will begin at noon Thursday at the chapel, with the family present from 6-8 p.m.

A memorial has been established for New London Fire and Rescue.

Mrs. NEHRING was born June 27, 1943, in Mount Pleasant, the daughter of Donald and Jean Lorene ROSS ANGSTEAD, formerly of Fairfield. She married Kenneth NEHRING Nov. 19, 1961, at New London United Methodist Church.

Mrs. NEHRING was a graduate of New London High School. She worked as a clerk at Shores Pharmacy in New London for 23.5 years, retiring in 2000. She volunteered at the New London Journal, writing a weekly column "Welcome To My World."

Mrs. NEHRING attended Community of Christ Church in Mount Pleasant. She was a member of New London Order of the Eastern Star No. 440 and New London Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 7641.

She enjoyed taking road trips, shopping and crocheting. She was a fan of Elvis, the St. Louis Cardinals, Green Bay Packers and Brett Favre.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Jeffrey and wife Kim and Jason and wife Kelli NEHRING, all of New London; three daughters, Kimberly WAGNER and husband Rodger of New London and twins, Kathryn MILLER and husband Tim of Burlington and Karin CADWALLADER and husband Bill of Vichy, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; one brother, Donald ANGSTEAD of New London; and one sister, Karen BROWN of New London.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant son, James; and one infant daughter, Donna.
